EOB Scanning with No Check and other improvments

Post by drtech »

Entering a bunch of insurance claims and checks lately, I noticed two design flaws that would really help overall to correct.

1) You currently can't scan and EOB on a claim with no payment b/c there is no check and the EOB attachment button is on the check. These are pretty important to scan as they need follow up and or explanation usually to the patient.
-Possible solutions to this would be to put the scan EOB on the payment entry window instead or some other place. Work around is to scan it into the images folder, but of course then it is not actually attached.

2) We really need tab or key arrow movements in the payment entry grids. The only way I found that you can move from field to field is by using the mouse. Very cumbersome when you should be able to stick with the keyboard entering numbers.

These things would really help speed up entry and follow up!

1) This should be fixed with the bug fix called "Batch insurance payments can now be entered with totals of zero dollars." that was released with v12.3.24 and v12.4.9.
2) When in the Enter Payment window grid you can use the up and down arrow or use the Enter key to go to the right. The window to which I'm referring is the first screenshot on this page: http://opendental.com/manual/claimpayment.html
Which payment grid are you referring to?
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.
