If you are and Ubuntu linux user, you know that for some reason, MySQL is not distributing a new installer package for debian based systems and after more than a year, no one has made a .deb file to use!
After some headaches and trial and error, I finally got my office server converted to MySQL 5.5. Using a program called "alien" to convert the RPM files to .dep and installing them on Ubuntu 11.04. If you are interested in how to do this, follow the link to the directions on my website:
