I'm having my clinical staff start to do some front office procedures, and one hiccup we ran into was that they could not edit/delete preauthorizations.
A preauthorization had been sent a year or so ago to have amalgams done, and now the patient was back, but wanted white fillings.
We could not start a new preauthorization because there was already one still in her chart, and now this staff member could not delete the preauthorization to start a new one.
I was able to find the rule to allow them to delete it, and the dates for which they will be able to edit, but I'm wondering why this is a restriction? What could an employee do to preauthorizations that would be a concern?
Thanks in advance!
