Why does Open Dental log me out if I "lock" my computer?

Post by thordds » Wed Jun 17, 2015 3:29 pm

I was wondering why when I now "lock" my computer in windows 7, why it automatically logs me off of open dental software? I don't ever recall this in the past. Is this something new? I would prefer it not to. This will allow my assistant (who's logged into open dental with her unique user name) to lock the computer and leave without having patients be prying. then a few minutes later when i come into the room i can just unlock the computer and view their chart.

This makes me have to log into open dental with my password and if I accidentaly forget to log off, then employees have unauthorized access with my log in.

Check your settings in Setup|Security. There's a checkbox for "Log off When Windows logs off" that is doing this. I just tested and when I locked Windows Open Dental logged off.
