Trojan Collection Services and Open Dental

I was wondering if the button on the account module that sends transactions to trojan is supposed to work. If I try sending a transaction over it gives me an error message. I called Trojan and they tell me there is no way it works with Open dental. If it doesn't why is the button there.

Well, whoever you talked to at Trojan was mistaken. Have you seen http://www.open-dent.com/manual/trojancollect.html ?

Finally I was able to get hold of someone at Trojan who knew what I was talking about. They stated the bridge to OD is fairly new so they needed to get a hold of their programmer and would let me know tomorrow. how to set it up.

I don't think they need to talk to the programmer. I think they just need to see our page in the manual. They need to get a copy of the Trojan communicator installed on your computer.

I spoke to a "representative" and he said "Indiana is not a major metropolitan area". They do not offer any service for the state of Indiana?????

Oh, yes. Normal Trojan services are definitely limited to certain geographical regions. Also, due to the fact that each state has different laws regarding collection services, it doesn't surprise me at all that the service is only available in some areas.

Glad someone else already asked this - we were having difficulty with it, too. I'll check with my OM to see if they ever got it figured out.
