OD/Trojan integration

Post by jonesdds12 » Tue May 07, 2013 1:05 pm

Can't seem to get a straightforward answer from either OD or Trojan on the exact process of integration. If a NP or exisiting with a change in insurance comes in, what is the process in which Trojan's data moves into OD? For example, can I enter the group number in Trojan, bring up the company and plan, check eligibility and then import it into OD. Does everything import then or is there still manual entries that much be made? What about fee schedules, will they change to appropriate once trojan data is imported(if it can be)?

Just looking from the flow from finding the plan on Trojan to getting it into OD

I have a meeting to attend soon so this answer won't be as precise as I like to get but the key to Open Dental integrating with Trojan is that the insurance plans have their TrojanID's set. To initially set them, you should follow the steps at the top of this page: http://opendental.com/manual/trojan.html. Once they are set, you shouldn't have to do anything from there on out. Open Dental will notify you upon start up if Trojan needs to update any information. Or you can manually cause that check to occur by clicking the Trojan button in the ins plan edit window: http://opendental.com/manual/insplan.html.

I don't think there's an automatic importing of fee schedules for Open Dental of any kind other than importing a fee schedule from another Open Dental database using the export, import tool: http://opendental.com/manual/feescheduletools.html

If you want to know more behind the scenes of what Trojan and Open Dental are doing I could give you a synopsis but I doubt it will help you with much.
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.
