Adding another sensor to Open Dental.

Post by Justin Shafer » Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:43 pm

Are any Open Dental users out there using a Suni sensor with OD? I am just curious. Was wondering how hard it would be to get another sensor to be supported. I wonder what I would need, perhaps an SDK from Hamamatsu? I thought it would be fun to add the Hamamatsu, if its anything like EZTwain it shouldnt be too hard. Just make a call to a DLL. =)

is anyone using suni just with OD? I bought a sensor a year ago and messed with it then, but haven't even used it since. I was wanting to use it right in OD's imaging module instead of having to have another imaging program.

I use suni with od and like it better than the supplied software because it is easy, fast and after I learned the exposure I get good images. I think there are better sensors. I also hope that he finishes it so we can have custom mounts.

what did you find the best settings to be in the software and for your x-ray unit?

80 kvp, 10ma, 6 or 8 impulses

software, I never could see that changing the exposure level did anything but I set it at 4
no jpeg compression (100)
