Progress Notes

Post by drforlano » Fri Sep 11, 2009 6:50 pm

I'm having trouble with the chronology of my progress notes.

For example: today a patient had a root canal, post and crown prep on tooth #19.
These three procedure were attached to the appointment in the correct chronological order (root canal 1st, post 2nd and crown prep 3rd)
The appointment was set complete, but the procedures appear in the reverse order in the progress notes.
This is confusing, because to a third party, it looks as if the crown prep was done 1st and the post before the root canal.
This happens with other procedures as well.
How can I correct this?
Thanks.

The issue of procedure order comes up sometimes for the following areas: TP, appointment, claim, chart, and account. We have tried a variety of strategies to help with the ordering. At the very least, the order should remain the same throughout the various areas. The order should be by Priority, ToothNum, ProcCode. So if the tooth num is the same for all three procs, it should be in order by proc code. The expected order would be D2750,D2954, D3330, or crn, post, rct. It sounds like it's behaving as designed even though that's annoying. It should not be a problem when processing claims. It doesn't look like there's a feature request yet for this situation. You could add one.

Thanks for responding. According to your comments, it is responding the way it is designed.
I'll put in a request. BTW, just update to the latest version. Thank you.
