Contract DDS

Post by Toothdr97 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 4:39 am

Ok, I am hoping I did this right. I have a dentist that is coming in occasionally to do root canals, IV sedations and extractions. When I send the claim, I am putting me as the billing DDS and him as the treating DDS. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I have not received anything back from insurance (one is Metlife) and they are usually pretty quick about the turn around. My thought is they are confused on who to bill. He is just contract so they should send the check to me and i will pay him. Just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone else has experience with this

umm, yes. He gave me his EIN per my CPA and I think he will be a 1099. Does that make a difference?

Sounds like you did it right. It's still possible they did something wrong.
