This has been fixed and will be added to 15.4.7. All EC status procedures will inherit the provider color if the pref to show provider colros in the chart is enabled.

This was an oversight on our behalf. We are adding an enhancement to the software to have provider group notes use the provider color if the 'Use Provider Color in Chart' preference is selected.

We won't ever stop that automatic backup. It's way too risky. We can't count on the convert database script running through completely without issue. Do the messaging buttons light up on those workstations? I think Jason may have hit the nail on the head.

The workstations that are not working don't have the synch set for that computer (it is a computer setting).
Go to Setup>Messaging Buttons.
Find the computer with (This Computer) next to it in the list

The referral window can track both referred in and referred out patients. If patient A is referred to you from patient B, you would add the 'Referred From' in patient A's chart. The referred from would be Patient B.

You can only assign one normal fee schedule to a plan. If you want the writeoff calculation in addition to the reduced insurance fee, there will need to be both the normal fee schedule (for the writeoff) and the copay for the difference.

It should show the income on 04/14/2015 from insurance for $100. It sounds like you have set the insurance payment date to 03/25/2015 instead of 04/14/2015. Open Dental uses the check date for posting income.

You would still use the Production and Income Report, but focus your attention on the Income portions of the report.

That is to be expected with PPO plans.
If you want to show the Insurance Rates in the account, check the Plan Type is Category Percentage and the Fee Schedule is selected. Use Update Fees in the Treatment Plan window to trigger the new fee schedule rates.

Nothing makes you use deposit slips. It is probably more redundant to create and then delete deposits in my opinion. They are purely a security feature.

A big advantage to using deposits is as an anti embezzlement tool. Deposits can be controlled through Setup>Security and only trusted members can edit them. This error stems from your NewCrop (eRX) not being accessible and the error log not having sufficient permissions to log the incident.

On the other hand, you could run the report, export contacts and email from a list, however that is getting complicated, not at all automated, and turns into a big mess.

The 'opendental' database that comes with the trial does not have patients loaded.

Most colors are customizable in Open Dental. This can be done by going to Setup>Definitions and finding the correct criteria.
The colors definitions in the chart module can be found in the Prog Notes Colors category.
To edit a color in a category, double click on the name and choose a new color.
