I don't know what insurance companies were like 20 years ago (I was a baby) but there are tons nowadays. So to ask us to bloat our database and make our users filter through the plethora of insurance companies is quite the expectation. It would be a full time job just to have someone maintain that l...

These are questions and requests to be making to Ultimo Dental. Any changes we make or have made (which it seems they don't have some of the features we've been implementing) they would have to incorporate. One downfall to being an open source software is that any company that redistributes or branc...

There should be a "Global Update Fees" Update for all patients button in the Fee Tools window. http://opendental.com/manual/feescheduletools.html This doesn't manipulate the ins estimates though, just the fees. You might have to update your version of Open Dental depending on what version you are at.

From the appointment module it is impossible to see or even add an appointment to a hidden operatory because hidden operatories cannot be added to appointment views. If what you're saying is true, you would have moved an appointment and ...

Re: Advertising and ROI Query
Did a quick search and came across query example #258. However, that will give you the production... not the patient income. If all else fails, we'll be more than happy to write a custom query for you for a charge. That's how the query page has gotten to be so long because people wanted custom repor...

Re: Limit number of family members scheduled per day
I haven't heard of anything like this that automatically happens in the program. You might check out the list of feature requests and see if someone else wants this sort of functionality. http://opendental.com/manual/featurerequests.html I can't think of a way to get Open Dental to do this as it sta...

Re: Emailing referral form times out
So that worked here also, but Jason, please educate us- what changed here? It was working fine last week. I wasn't part of the change, but it looks like new code was added so that if users are using the specific port 465 as their smtp server port then it uses "backward compatible" code if you will ...

Re: Emailing referral form times out
I use same .NET "Mail" to send appointment reminders with the same smtp setting. I don't have problems... That's good to know. I don't think it's a problem with .NET's mail, but a change that got overlooked when we "enhanced" our mail sending so that implicit SSL could be supported for those requir...

Re: Emailing referral form times out
E-mail within Open Dental is sent with Microsoft .NET's "Mail" namespace ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.mail.aspx ). However, we recently added some code to support implicit SSL ports in v12.4.28. I do not believe this to be the cause of your problem (mainly because you don't h...

Re: Emailing referral form times out
I'm curious if the email would time out from the "E-main" button on the tool bar if you manually added the referral pdf as an attachment. Since it doesn't happen at home, it won't hurt to make sure your antivirus software at work isn't blocking it from going out. I would make sure that OpenDental.ex...

Re: consent on kiosk
You could just create your custom consent form but make sure that is a sheet that is a Patient Form type. Kiosk can handle two sheet types, Patient Form and Medical History. If you would like to use an example sheet for your consent form, I would recommend looking at the HIPPA patient form on the In...

Re: Unable to do backup for 12.3.42.0
I haven't heard many complaints about running backups in this version so I would lean towards one of the suggested explanations above. I've seen antivirus software cause issues before and even flash drives go bad. You might try a test and change the "backup to" directory to your desktop. This would ...
