Re: Win 10 update

BTW, whenever a big update comes through, the sensor driver seems to disappear and need to be re-installed (requiring a re-boot). It always happens with that first exposure of the day (grumble, grumble). W7 doesn't do that. I'd check the device installation settings. Try Win-X, System, Advanced Syst...

SQL Backup Questions

Is is sufficient to make a copy of the SQL folder as a backup?
Would those folder copies be legitimate backups if done during the day while someone is in OpenDental?

Re: Populating Prescriptions & Medications List

Yeah it would be so much easier - in addition, there are online resources for downloading spreadsheets with list of medications & it would make so much sense to be able to populate OD using an authoritative source like that...

Should I assume that every office manually added medications and prescriptions from scratch?

Re: XCharge Experience/Feedback

Does the lack of response mean that no one uses them or does it mean that their service is very poor but that no one wants to publicly say it?

Patient Communication Recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations for patient communications vendors. There's many listed on OpenDental's website so I was hoping to learn which has been reliable and provides seamless integration. We currently use Lighthouse with PracticeWorks but since we are moving over to OD, I figured I'd poll th...

XCharge Experience/Feedback

Hello. I see that XCharge is one of two integrated credit card processors for OD so I was hoping to get some feedback on actual office experience with their services. Thanks in advance.

Re: Populating Prescriptions & Medications List

Thanks for the info. I don't have access to eRx with our current system. It's buried through custom forms and documents so it looks to me like we have to add the prescriptions manually. Too bad there isn't a modern solution with the state of technology being where we are.

Populating Prescriptions & Medications List

Is there a was to "populate" the lists of prescriptions and medications for a new office without using eRx module? I'm hoping that since the eRx system has a list, that it can be imported.
Thanks

VoiceWorks - is it worth it?

Hello Forum, My first post. We're looking at converting to OD soon and also looking to add VoiceWorks by Florida Probe. The voice recognition on this product is amazing & every user I've spoken to has been happy. I want to make sure that OD doesn't have something like that in the software before I s...

I'll second Gary's sentiment about the automation experts in PracticeWorks. More than anything else, they really made the software work for us.

Re: SnapScan or Epson s50

I've had a snapscan scanner for over six years and have never looked back. Actually, I have three. Their fast, reliable & convenient.
However, it's not twain compatible so if you're looking for that functionality, you should look elsewhere.

Re: setting up reports

PW has an amazing feature that gives the user the ability to create custom reports that generates a spreadsheet on demand. It's quite powerful and has allowed us to slice and dice the database and extract lots of useful information organized as we see fit. I can appreciate why a PW user would be ask...
