Dymo LabelWriter 400, $99 -we have 2 and they work flawlessly

and then order labels from e-bay for like 10% of the cost of a retail store.

Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Is this the same printer that also works for printing credit card transactions (via xcharge)?
Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Thanks. DrTech. What size of label do you use? I found DYMO 30252 with size 1.13" x 3.5". But 3.5" is a little bit wider than the business card. It doesn't seem like a good choice. Thanks.
Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Our office uses Brother P-touch QL-500. It comes with few different label choices. We are using it for same function.
Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Thanks for the response. I ended up buying a refurbished QL-500 from amazon. It is only $18.22 with free shipping!!! It works very well. The DK-1201 that comes with the printer is too wide for business card. I found DK-1209 works better. It is $22.42. So a roll of labels costs more than the printer.
Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
I'm trying to use my new label printer (Dymo LabelWriter Duo) via Terminal Server 2008. All my other printers work fine, but the LabelWriter is printing blank labels from Open Dental. It will print labels locally via the software that comes with the LabelWriter, but not via Open Dental. Obviously Open Dental is communicating with the label printer because it sends the job to the printer and a label spits out - but there's no text on it. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Try changing the "sheet" for the label. I would start with paper size and landscape/letter orientation as the first suspects. Also, look at the default paper orientation for the installed printer, and possibly change that.

I thought about it some more, and it does seem like more of a TS problem than a paper orientation problem. I really don't have a good answer for you. Maybe change the orientation of the installed label printer to be landscape? I'm really grasping at straws here.

Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
We have a Dymo Duo which works fine - The Appointment card label is simply a standard address label (sometimes needs a little trim). It especially works well from the back office when I want to set up a specific time for a patient - then it prints out at the front desk.

Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
I tested it with Open Dental installed locally and the labels printed fine. So, it's definitely a terminal server issue. We're using "easy print" which automatically sets up the printer drivers when you run terminal server - I will instead try manually installing that printer driver and hopefully that will fix it. Thanks for the suggestions.
Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Hi all, is there a way to print the family addresses on a label printer from a list without having to go one by one? I want to print them for hollidays cards, and want to minimize the work.

Try sheets of labels for that. Use the laser labels feature.

Re: Which label printer would you recommend?
Commercial label printers are a little expensive but when compared to other printers they are much more potential. And they are capable to handle much more stock and print much better quantities than others.brentwood wrote:I am going to get a label printer to stick appointment labels on the back of business cards when scheduling next appointments for patents.
