1. any reason why one can't capture a signature on X-Charge ??
2. possible to get a bridge to other signature devices? like XDR bridges to OD (not sure who made this bridge)
3. it also seems one can sign a chart, TP, or consent with a mouse then one should be able to use the WACOM Intuos Inking Pen http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=new I might have to try this.

Re: Signature capture
1. Because we haven't programmed it to do that yet.
2. We would have to build such a bridge. Just maintaining the Topaz bridge is hard enough. I would expect that if we were going to try to enhance the bridge, we would start looking at supporting larger Topaz pads and putting images on the screens of the pads.
3. I have been curious about the Wacom pads. I'm not so sure about the pen. It requires special paper.

Re: Signature capture
I need to buy some more Topaz pads in the near future. I only have one without ink. Right now Open dental will not work with the larger ones correct? Is programming the bigger pads a high priority or a low priority? If someday you do use the larger pads is it possible to put consent forms on them or sheets with checkboxes for the user to complete? I was just wondering and guess if it is not a high priority that I should probably just get one more smaller pad with ink in the meantime?

Jordan,
This particular WACOM writes ink, as stated in the specifications, so I don't think it does. I plan on getting it and trying it out...let u know as soon as I get around to it. As for the signature capture in OD, is that in the works?

Re: Signature capture
Signature for credit card payments is fairly high priority. Support for larger Topaz pads seems low priority until one considers that the person usually likes to see the amount on the signature device right above where they sign. This would require supporting a large Topaz pad. But larger pads would still need to come after basic credit card support.

Jordan,
Is there any status change on capturing a patient's CC transaction via X-charge?

Re: Signature capture
There is a security requirement fast approaching for credit cards which is much higher priority than making the signature pad work. So yes, some changes are coming, but not in the specific area you want.
