Insurance Co.'s in Accounts

Post by drschulman » Fri Jan 15, 2010 6:06 am

I realize it is probably a good idea to have a running track record of what ins. co's a family has had but i was wondering if there was a better way to present it than the way it is now (or if there is a way to delete old ins co's from there hist.?)...For example, we have alot of patients that switch group numbers within the same ins. co, they work for the govt, or a school system and when i have a new person sending a pre-auth or assigning the ins. to new family members it becomes confusing. They see the ins. co options to pick from in the preauth or add ins screen but they often say the same thing ( e.g.UNITED CONCORDIA) very generic but the group number may differ. Any suggestions?? Just dont want any mistakes! Thanks!

I've experienced the same problem here. It can be very difficult to figure out what is current at times.

I put it down as a bug.

I enter the effective date and termination date for each "old" plan and the effective date for the current plan to differentiate between the current coverage and any terminated coverage. If you are already creating a claim or pre-auth,
you might have to go back a couple of screens to view that info, though.

The "bug" was fixed on the 18th. It should be better now.
