Editing payment plans

Since updating to version 23.3.52.0 last month, new payment plans are no longer editable. We use Flex to automatically charge the patient's credit card on the dates set by the payment plan. For ortho, just about all patients are on payment plans in the $3,000-$7,000 that spans 12-30 months.

We're running into trouble when we need to change the date their credit card is charge or need to change the amount for a certain month mid-way through. Common things are like skipping December and charge double in January with their renewed FSA, some emergency happened to them and they would like to split this month's payment into two payments when they receive their pay checks, or they would like us to charge the card on a different date.

It's not too bad when there's only one or two patients, but if we're in the several hundreds of patients in a payment plan, these special requests are getting very difficult to keep track of regularly because we cannot edit the plan mid treatment anymore.

What's everyone else doing in these situations? Any suggestions?
