Procedures being assigned to incorrect provider

Post by StevenW » Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:59 pm

Is anyone else having issues with certain procedures being assigned to the wrong provider? We are running into this issue on Periapicals (D0220/D0230) that could be either a doctor or hygienist procedure.

If you mark the procedure code to be "Is Hygiene", Open Dental assigns the hygienist to every procedure, even those in the doctor's operatory. If you don't mark "Is Hygiene", Open Dental assigns the dentist to every procedure, even when the hygienist actually took the x-ray.

This is requiring manual correction on a daily basis of a large number of our PAs. Anyone else having this issue, or know of any workarounds?

Thanks,
Steven

Can you make the doctor the “hygienist” in his/her column in addition to the doctor?
