What does that little vertical bar on the corner of the appt box indicate? I remember that a "!" indicated a claim not sent, but I've just noticed the vertical bar on some pts and not others. Thanks.

I indicates they have ins, nothing means they don't have insurance entered.

I started using version 5.3.17 and noticed that the red exclamation point no longer shows. Only the black line for insurance. Was this changed or is it a bug?

We had to disable it due to serious performance issues in larger offices. If we enable it again in a future version, it needs to be optional.

Oh please, please, please make it available again as an option. It really helps the front desk a lot and I can check at the end of the day with just a quick look if we left out any claims.

Jordan, in my testing myself when I added the feature, I didn't see any visible slowdown, but I wondered if there may be a more efficient way to code it. Were you able to trace a definite slow down to this feature?

I just added it back in as an option. I thought that would be faster and more reliable than trying to track down how to make it more efficient. I didn't notice any difference on my db either. But we did get a copy of a db that was very slow. We did not specifically tie it to this feature, but commenting out the code for this feature was one of the steps we took. The end result was much faster, but it could have been due to our other optimizations, too. To prove it one way or the other, I'd have to find that database again to test it on. I'm not sure I can do that.

Just out of curiosity, why is it helpful to have the little I bar indicate on the schedule that the patient has insurance?
Wouldn't it be more useful to have something indicating an account is past due?

I think they are talking about a red exclammation point that showed the patient account had a procedure which was not billed out to insurance.
My office got used that feature very quickly as well.
I too will be glad to have it as an option.
Thanks for adding it back in...

I agree that would be good to do this..maybe indicate all pts with non zero balances or balances over 30 days.
