From zero coding experience: Built an autonomous insurance verification engine for Open Dental in 11 days

Hey everyone,
I’m not a developer or a dental person at all — zero coding background and zero industry experience before this.
A few weeks ago I kept hearing how much time and money practices lose every single morning just trying to get insurance verification done (portals, phone calls, surprise downgrades, missing tooth clauses, etc.). It sounded like such a universal headache that I decided to see if I could do something about it.
So I went all-in: used Claude as my only real help and built a tool called Verora AI in 11 days (62k lines, sleeping 3–4 hours a night). The whole thing runs completely autonomously overnight and writes clean benefits + alerts straight back into Open Dental by 5 AM.
After testing across 1,200+ payers it’s currently hitting 98.5% true autonomous verification, and it caught 100% of the missing tooth clause and downgrade issues in my test runs.
I already have it live in two real practices and a third one starts Monday. The teams say they literally just walk in to a fully verified schedule — no more morning scramble.
I’m not here to sell anything. I just genuinely want to know what other Open Dental users think. Does this sound useful? Are there specific pain points with insurance verification that I might have missed? Any feedback (good or bad) would be awesome.
If anyone wants to kick the tires, the sandbox is completely free forever — no card, no commitment. Happy to answer questions or hop on a quick screen share if you’re curious how the PMS integration works.
Thanks for letting me share!
Thomas
