Good afternoon,

I am trying to enhance my website by embedding some e-services features on the page dedicated to the patients.
The website is implemented on a Wordpress.
The features I'm looking to add to the website - ability of the new patient to schedule the appointment (as described in the manual), also for the existing patient to schedule a new appoinmtnet, schedule recall, interact with the patient portal without leaving the page and make payments.

So, here are some questions that I have:

- Are there any WordPress plugins or APIs available that facilitate the integration of the Patient Portal, Payment Portal and Schedule the Appointment features to a wordpress based site?
- Is there a recommended method for embedding the above OpenDental's features into a WordPress page?
- Security implications of exposing the opendental database through the e-services embedded at the WordPress site?

Did I ask my question in a wrong place?

I too interested in this option, but instead of WordPress, I use Drupal as my content management system.

I have been toying with the idea of building this myself by using the Open Dental API to do this. You can also just use the Open Dental branded patient scheduling eservice as well.

The terminology that you'll want to search for is "iFrame" aka "inline frame". You would then set the URL for said iFrame to your "Patient Facing URL" found within the eServices Patient Portal window.
If WordPress, or Drupal, or any such site hosting entity doesn't support iFrames then just having a link for patients to click on will be the best alternative.

There are no security implications by doing this. All security is handled by Open Dental regardless of how the patient visits the Patient Portal (e.g. through an iFrame, directly by clicking a link, etc).
