Hello,
Which HL7 field is mapped or I can map in the PID segment PID.30 that can tell me whether the patient is deceased?

Hello malay,
According to our docummentation on HL7 Interface Specification that one of our engineers wrote (
https://opendental.com/resources/HL7Mes ... eSpecs.pdf), we do not support PID segment PID.30. Please fill out a Feature Request if you would like to see the program to process this.

I created a feature request - 15781
Any idea what is the process further?

Be sure to vote for your feature request, otherwise it will not be visible to other users and they will not be able to vote for it. The more votes a feature gets, the more likely we are to prioritize it and implement it. We don't supply estimates on when a feature request might be implemented or guarantee that every request will become a feature. You can find more details on feature requests in our manual:
https://www.opendental.com/manual/featurerequests.html

Who gets to vote? I have a dev key but I have not votes. I have access to couple of live instances but I don't see my request in their list! So how to vote?
Can I ask here in the community to vote for my requirement?
Thanks.

Can a person in position of authority at OD push for this? Sending appointment reminders to dead patients is the last thing anyone wants.
When I look at the feature requests list on some of the live client OD installs I have, I am unable to find my feature request.
Thank you!

Maybe when someone dies, you change the status in Open Dental. Then, if they're a non-patient, they shouldn't come through in the first place. In other words, do the same thing with a different approach. Yes, it will require staff to change the statuses, but it should be easy to run a report to see which ones to change. And there shouldn't be very many. I doubt that feature request will ever get done. We've had requests on there for 10 years. I just don't want you to get your hopes up. The reason it's not showing for others is probably because it has no votes yet.
