eRx issue. Unable to transmit due to account configuration.

Hello,
I'm trying to send an eRx to the pharmacy and have no issues until I get to the screen for actual transmission, where I have 2 options - to print a prescription and to transmit.
If I click "print" - it prints and appears in OD as a prescription to the pt. as it should.
If I click "transmit" - the newcrop shows me the message: "Scheduled drugs, per DEA, may not be transmitted or faxed with your current account configuration.
Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances (EPCS) is now available nation-wide: contact your EHR for details.
To proceed, uncheck boxes to process scheduled drugs separately."
could you help me to understand what I need to change in the account configuration to make the rx to go through"?

Sounds like you need to sign up for an EPCS license:

As Jason said, Controlled Substances transmission requires additional sign up.
If you remove the controlled substances, you can transmit the non-controlled drugs.
If you'd like to transmit controlled substances electronically, please contact us for assistance for sign up.

Ok, it seems like my Admin interface does not even have the Electronic Prescribing Setup link group...

OK- I can get that turned on for you, but I'll need to know your account.
Also, did you go through Identity Proofing with Verizon UIS already?

I believe I did. Are you talking about initial sign-up process when I clicked on eRx button first time and was brought to the setup screen?
Do you need me to call you with account information?

Clicking on eRX will enable the program link, however in order to proceed with EPCS, you'll need to go through Identity Proofing and Credentialling (if you haven't already): http://opendental.com/manual/erxenable.html

Once that is done, you'll have the option in the Admin tab to sign up for EPCS. http://opendental.com/manual/erxepcs.html

Arna, i have completed the identity step you mentioned, however the Admin tab still does not have that information.

Did you send your license information across to be registered with Surescripts?
If so, shoot me an email with your contact details and I'll reach out to the vendor to troubleshoot that link.

For eRX users that have not previously Identitiy Proofed, the EPCS link may not be available.
Contact us if you'd like that option and we can work with the vendor to get the process started.
