Getting a database exception when I try to load the database. This does not occur if I check "Do not show this window on startup."
If I hit continue everything works as it should, but this error is irritating on one of my workstations that I want to pick the database at startup on.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

It looks like you may have a duplicate table in your database. My recommendation would be to run the Database Maintenance tool from within Open Dental. It will likely fix that (plus any other) issues you have! If not, feel free to give us a call. Additionally, before messing with the database it's always a good idea to create a backup.

I had already run the tool. There were a few things that have to be fixed manually mainly due to dentrix conversion, but none of them appear to be related.

I even ran "optimize" on the database.

we have occasionally now similar database errors showing up. we are running 13.2.27.0. We are not able to save sheets if the error occurs and loose some of our custom forms. Tech support told us we need to update to windows 7 or 8, we are still running XP professional...., also advised up to update our version to 14.3.24... any thoughts from anybody on the XP and the version update, I thought 14.3.24 was still beta???

It is the beta version. The safer version would be 14.2. We use 14.3 here in the office and it works well so it's up to you really.

Back in April 8, 2014 Microsoft dropped support for XP. The biggest problem with that is you are no longer getting security updates and other potentially essential updates.

I'd have to see the "similar" database errors to know if they are in fact similar or would be fixed by the suggestions that tech support gave you.

David is incorrect to an extent. v14.3 has been our stable version since 11/20/2014. However, v14.3 is also listed as our beta version because we are waiting till 2015 to release v15.1 as our next beta version. Therefore, there isn't a beta version available right now.

We have been using v14.3 here at HQ since 8/21/2014 if that makes you feel any better about upgrading to that version.
