I have a spare computer that is an opendental client. I am currently only on version 11.0.32.

What do I need to do to get a workstation setup as an OpenDental server? I need to install MySQL on the spare computer but not sure where to get it from. Should I install it from the trial version? Is there an install file for MySQL located on the server?

You can just use the trial installer. See http://opendental.com/manual/mysql55.html for instructions.
Make sure to disable (or better yet, uninstall) MySQL from your current server once you have migrated the data to avoid connecting to the wrong database down the line.

I now have crashplan backing up the OD Server to Crashplan central and two other computers at the office. I just tested out restoring from backup and it took all of 6 minutes to have a backup computer up and running. XDR would be a different story since their licensing scheme is different.
