Sale of toothbrushes

Is there any way of logging sale of hygiene products except through service codes? I suppose one disadvantage of logging through codes is that the set appointments complete rather than procedures has to be disabled as sometimes stock items are sold to people who just come in and have no appointment.

Not sure where you are located, but selling anything in the office is a bad idea here in California.
It's a tax filing nightmare.
Build it into the prophy fee and give it to the patient.

savvy is right!
If you sell stuff, you are no longer considered a "Cash" business. You'd have to list inventories and all that in your federal tax returns. Then the same goes for state. Then the county/city tax assessors will come around to check because they want you to give them sales tax also. I had a couple of Sonicares and Oral-Bs sitting out with coupons for the brush heads. County tax assessor came around and asked if we were selling them. If your county needs $$, they will pay everyone a little visit.
