New Version Naming Conventions?

I'm curious. Silly question here... Back in 2011 version names began to match the last 2 digits in the corresponding year, starting with 11.0 This year we skipped 13.0 to 13.1. Is this so we will be able to more quickly tell how many versions there are in a particular year?

The version numbering changed in 2011. See the following link:

So, in 2011 and 2012 the minor version series started with "0", and this year a "1". That's the question...

The minor version number may vary, it depends on software development factors. Usually with OD, there are about 4-5 minor releases in any given year.

If I had to guess this year, it took about a month into 2013 to release the 13.x beta, so 13.0 was skipped because by the time 13 was released as a beta, enough bug fixes/features had been added to warrant the 13.1 designation.

Or could it be that since Version 12.4 was released on 2/12/2013, 13.0 was skipped?

What normal person starts counting at zero? We decided we would start counting like everyone else: at one. That's all.

Ahhh. That makes too much sense. Thanks Jordan!
