Make Appt

The new shortcuts on the main Appt window to "Make Appt" and "Make Recall" bypass viewing the "Appts for Pat" window. Is there any way to turn them off/grey them out so they can't be used. I want my staff to look at the list of patient appointments before scheduling a new appt to see if there are any "Planned Appts" or previously "Broken/Cancelled Appts" that should be used (recycled) before scheduling a new appt from scratch.
This change is going to make the use of Planned Appts obsolete.

Yes, and when you double click on the appt book you no longer see the planned appts...

I already brought this up and Jordan thought people would want the new way only...

I changed the program code directly and re enabled it in my office already when you double click on the book...

David,
I missed that entire blog. I was on vacation and didn't follow the OD forum for a couple of weeks.
But I agree with you. I don't like the new behavior at all. I already told my receptionist to ignore the new "Make Appt" "Make Recall" and "Fam Recall" buttons and only use the "View Pat Appts" button. The confusion it creates for the sake of eliminating a single mouse click isn't worth it.
I and my staff finally learned how to make proper use of the "Planned Appt" feature and this would totally negate its use and value.
Whose idea was this? Was this a feature request? I never noticed it and would have voted against it.

I didn't feel that the reason given on the other thread was good enough. But this reason is certainly valid. How about if we add some intelligence? If the patient has a planned appointment or a broken appointment, then the window comes up. Otherwise, it doesn't.

Jordan,
You mean when you click on the "Make Appt" or "Make Recall" button? That would be awesome.

Dr. Sparks added the intelligence he mentioned above
If the patient has a planned appointment or a broken appointment
and it will be released with v12.3.28 and v12.4.14.
Dr. Fuchs, I remember your other post but I'm just going to put the answer here since you are a part of this discussion as well.
