I really want to try OD but can't get the trail version to load at home or office (using XP Pro both), seems to get hung up and tell me the trail version isn't a vaild Win 32 application? Any suggestions?

I think you forgot to install the dotNet framework first. Either that, or you have antivirus software that's interfering.
