Since upgrading to version 7.9 there are now several transaction types available when using Payconnect for credit card processing in Open Dental. The transaction options are Sale, Auth, Void and Return. Can someone explain what to use these for and how? The online user manual hasn't been updated yet. In particular, what would be the steps in Open Dental to voiding a credit card transaction you've previously processed. Also, how do you do a credit card refund? If I was doing a check refund I'd enter a negative payment, do I do the same for payconnect and also change the transaction type to Return? Thanks

We have the instructions written up, and we hope to have them posted into the manual on Monday.

Still waiting for these instructions. Can you post them on this forum if the web page isn't going to be updated?

We have many users at multiple clinics that need to have the instructions, so I want to be able to send something in writing - rather than telling users to call the PayConnect help desk. Since this is a new feature integrated in Open Dental software, it seems logical that the instruction manual should come from Open Dental.

I've posted the instructions at the bottom of the PayConnect page on our website. If anything needs more detail, please let me know.

Thanks for the info, that should be enough. I didn't think it had been updated because the screenshots looked the same (didn't have the new radio buttons), I should have looked more closely at the text.
