Network requirements for XVLite and OD

Does anyone know the network requirements for XVLite if I start using OD? My new office currently uses Dentrix G4 and XVLite for image management. I'd like to have a peer-to-peer arrangement in OD instead of a server but I'm wondering if XVLite requires a server arrangement? Suggestions?

XVlite technically doesn't need a server, but simply installed on a host that is accessible to the other peers (makes sense to have it on the computer that hosts mysql). I was even able to install xvlite on a linux host (using wine) but any update could easily break this configuration.
