cut and paste in sheets

i am using my sheets for patient letters

in the letter text section I am trying to past in the letter content from a word document but cannot?

is there a way to cut and paste the body text of a letter?

i usually type the letter in word to check spelling and then paste it into the "static text field"

do I need to utilize a different type of field?
