trying to install a copy of my current version 5.6.14.0 over the trial version 6.9.22.0, on a new computer
error message "a newer version has been installed but setup.exe could not be found in any of the following paths C:\\OpenDentImages"
and then the program automatically shuts off.
is there supposed to be a setup.exe in the images folder? my current computer doesn't have it!

That's pretty old. You could just create a folder in Program Files, and copy all your Open Dental files from one computer to another. That's all that the installer does.
