Inquiring minds want to know: What's a phone panel?

Not sure in what context you are referring, but......
I have a phone panel in my office.
It is a 3x3 foot board with 16 interconnected punch blocks mounted on it.
The 4 telephone lines (each line is one telephone number) connects to one of the blocks.
From that block, the lines connect to my Lucent Partner Phone system.
From the phone system, each extension connects to a certain block.
A 25 pair cable connects to each block.
The cables go to various areas of my office and terminate with amphenol connectors.
Phones (extensions) connect to the amphenols.
Granted, it's old school.
But my office was originally built in the early 70's and that was state of the art then.
Not that I would ever need it, but I can have 50 phone numbers and 100+ 4 line phones.
Basically, it is a miniature phone trunk....those big boxes that are in your neighbor hood that the phone guy opens up that has thousands of wires in it and you ask,
"how can he tell which wire is what?"

Oh I know that one - even have a punch-down tool that I purchased on e-bay. But I've decided to stick with teeth

.
I should have made my query clearer. This is from the OD "Bug Tracker":
-------------------------------------
7.2.22(beta) Released 8/21/2010
W for watch was not easily visible against the dark unerupted tooth.
phone panel
7.2.19(beta) Released 8/20/2010
Progress notes PDF for eCW was not showing procedure notes.
Internal phone panel enhancements.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

It's an internal tool that we use here at OD HQ. As you can imagine, we must have beefy phone and management systems. That tool shows us who is on the phone and with which customer. It's tied in with tasks, timecards, webcams, and our phone system. It's very similar to a plug-in in the sense that many things are hard coded with no consideration of how anyone else would use them. In fact, it would be a plug-in except that it's just easier to roll it into the main program. One reason we've been beefing it up is in preparation for opening our second location. Our second location is also here in Salem, but it's in an industrial park rather than our current dental office building. The industrial park has better electrical and communications services.
