Critical Security Bug - Payment Edits

I was editing the writeoff on a few insurance payment today that I found to be incorrect. I noticed the "Paid" field was editable - it used to be grayed out after a check was created and deposited. I tested it and it allowed me change the amount paid, which then automatically changed the check amount and the deposit amount! This is a serious issue. Has it been fixed in a new version? I tried to check the bug tracker but I was getting a page cannot be displayed error. I'm running version 7.0.41.
