Web service and Replication

We are doing replication between offices and interested in setting up Web Services to deal with possible server outage at one office.
Can each office have a web service running on the local database?
How is updating going to work with replication running?
The data folders are also on real times windows DFS replication so that the offices feels like a single big office. Would this be a problem with regular updating or updating with web service?

For one virtual database like you have, there is only one field in Open Dental for naming which computer hosts the web service. So no, although it's not a terribly difficult feature to add. When the web service is turned on, it forces updates to be done only one computer. Also, in general, you should always shut down replication before doing an update that requires a database upgrade (usually only between minor versions like 7.0 to 7.1).
I can't think of any problem with the folder replication.
