I no longer have certain employees.
They were marked "hidden" yet they appeared in the User sign in screen.

This evening I updated to version 5.1.17.
After installation, the ex-employees that were "hidden" still appeared in the User sign on screen.

I removed the "hidden" check mark.
I rebooted my computer.
The ex-employee was still listed as a user (as I expected).
I rechecked the employee "hidden" box.
I logged out of OD.
I logged back into OD.
The employee is still listed as user.
I rebooted my computer.
The employee is STILL listed as a user.

What gives?

The method of hiding users in 5.1 is crude. Someone else added it as a workaround. It does work as long as you properly attach the user to the employee. I think that's the step that you're not quite getting right. In any case, that has all been scrapped in 5.2, and you can hide the actual user, whether they are an employee or not. 5.2 will be going to beta within a few weeks, and that part of it is already done and working well. Hidden users will never show in the login screen, and there is no longer a checkbox to show them.
