2 planned appointments

Just discovered this today:
There seems to be a bug in that if someone makes a planned appt and then on another computer someone (who hasn't refreshed the chart) goes to make a planned appt, it created two different planned appointments with no way to delete the original one.
I plan on adding in a check when you click the OK on making the planned appointment in case someone just made one while you had your appt edit window open.

Yes I noticed this bug a couple weeks ago and wrote about it. I dont think I made myself clear though and had to go on vacation. Please let me know if you figure out how to delete the second planned appt. as I have a couple patients with them.

james,
I still think he's talking about a different bug than the one you were talking about. I just want to make sure you have upgraded to 5.0.2.

This was done on the office computers which are on 4.9. We are waiting for version 5.0 to get out of beta before we upgrade. My assistant was learning how to use planned appts. She made a planned appt then realized she made a mistake so just made a second planned appt. She did not realize she had to clear the first planned appt. She did this several times on a few patients before she asked me what she was doing wrong. Now those patients have several planned appts showing in the appt screen with no easy way to remove the extra ones. I had to leave on vacation before I could spend much time looking it over, so was just going to try to figure it out when I returned to work. I logged in to OD site from Tibet and saw the post above so if it is the same thing then would like to know how to remove the extra planned appt if possible.

OK, then to 4.9.11. My point is that this bug was fixed a long time ago.

jordan, you are saying this is fixed now? It happened to me w/ v5.0.7

No... David, the bug you are talking about is more of a "feature by design". It's always been that way, and nobody notices. But the bug james was talking about was much more obvious and was quickly fixed.

ok, I see...I guess I didn't read properly what he meant above here...
Now since what I am talking about is just a function of "whoever pushes OK last," similar to how you brought up on running two copies of OD in another thread, any problem adding in a check for a planned appt right before writing to the DataBase in the OK button? (I am thinking of only when you are editing a planned appt: to check for existing planned appts and if so, give you the option to replace it with yours or keep the existing)

Or you could just tighten down the staff procedures. There should be one assistant for a given procedure. That assistant is responsible for creating the planned appointment. They can't be on two computers at once.
Go ahead and add that feature it you want, but I would consider it a very low priority.
