If I backup the data in ver 4.5, can I restore in ver 5.8?
Or some extra steps have to perform on the side or ahead?

I suppose you can. It will just immediately convert your data to the current version. Be sure to try it out first in a non-critical setting. That's a pretty big jump, and I seem to remember a few conversions had trouble around version 5.0.
