Payment behavior changed

Post by JLM » Thu Apr 05, 2018 12:11 pm

I upgraded to 17.3 and my hygienists got a huge raise. They were getting just a salary but now they get salary plus 100% of collections. (They still think they are underpaid.) What do I change to have the payments credited to me instead of them so they can be properly oppressed and exploited again as they were before the 'upgrade'?

I assume that means you are scheduling your procedures so the primary provider is the hygienist.

I recommend setting your operatories up so you are the Provider on the operatories and the hygienists in your office are marked as the Hygienist.

This means your appointments should also be marked as such. You can check on the left side of the appointment edit window.

If both of those are set up that way then the payments will be defaulting to being paid to you since all procedures will be associated to you. If that doesn't work I would call support. They will be able to help explain the payment changes in 17.3.

In my case,
1) Primary provider is me. Appointment window show me as provider and an RDH as the hygienist. The "Is Hygienist" box is checked.
2) In the operatories setup window, none of the operatories are marked as "Is Hygiene" so the RDH is never considered the primary provider. I am always listed as provider, and an RDH is always listed as hygienist.
3) Changing "Enforce Valid Paysplits" to "Do Not Enforce" reverts behavior back to expectations.

So, I am wondering if Paysplit behavior is working as intended. I can see nothing in my setup that would lead anyone to expect the hygienists to have payments credited to them.

If you are on the latest stable version, I would call support.
We have done a fair number of enhancements to that logic recently and our techs are very knowledgeable about the way the new system works.
If all else fails, an engineer can look at your database and discern the issue so it can be fixed for you and other customers.
