Was reading about the new email inbox feature. Is there a way to set it to leave a copy on the server? If you have an email address patients are used to like office@yourofficename.com and then you add that to open dental it would delete emails from your server so if you have that email on your outlook it would not be able to download it there. So bbasically you would have to have a special open dental email address but that gets confusing for patients. I posted previously that IMAP is the solution. Is anybody doing something else?
Finally the email function got usefull with an inbox but no IMAP seems like a waste and i cant figure out a workaround except having a separate open dental email address that will be confusing for patients.I did put a feature request #3276 that would make it work with IMAP so you would be able to sync. I put points and $400 on it. Hoping others will see the value of this. If they added IMAP you would be able to save all patient emails automatically. Both referrals to specialist and just things to emails or to insurance companies about a specific patients. Seems like an awesome feature.
Email inbox?
Re: Email inbox?
When setting up your email in Open Dental you will be using POP settings which will download the messages from your email server instead of interacting with them in the way that IMAP does. So for example if you are using Gmail for your business, you can delete the messages out of your Open Dental inbox without having to worry about them being deleted from your Gmail inbox.noestervemb wrote:Was reading about the new email inbox feature.
