Waiting room: Walk ins

Hi. My practice accepts walk ins apart from scheduled appointments. Is there a way of how these can be made to show in the waiting room window.
The only way I found was to create a separate surgery column and create an 'appointment' for them each time, but it takes many unnecessary steps. What I'm after is to select/create patient file and press on 'arrive' trigger status or similar.

You're correct. The only way to trigger a waiting room event is to change the status of an appointment, so you would need to have an appointment in order to place a patient in the waiting room.
