Problem opening pdf files from images folder

Post by jtlefty »

Last week my staff notified me of a small problem accessing the pdf files that we have imported into the images folder. What happens is that we get a "file not foundpatientname####.pdf" after clicking once.

After closing the dialog box, we then can click on the file, and it opens as it always has.

Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joshua Smith

And you're sure it's still doing that? Because that sounds like a bug that was fixed in version 5.4.19.

It works as it should on the server, but yes, the workstations still experience the problem: a fle not found, but then success on the second try.

It works on the server, but not on the workstations? Then I think it's a security issue. Is your A-Z folder shared with all permissions for everyone? See http://www.open-dent.com/manual/vista.html . What does your datapath to the A-Z folder look like?

I double-checked the data path to the A-Z folder. It was correct, but I selected the folder again. Now the problem is resolved. The server is an SBS 2003 SP1 box. The workstations are primarliy XP Pro, with one vista64.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Right. When you manually selected the folder, it resolved the security issue for all future interactions.
