Multiple modules

Post by drpenny »

We are changing from Dentrix and just realized it seems you can only see one module at a time in Open Dental. We like to have the schedule and sometimes X-rays up on a second monitor while the chart module is open on the main monitor. Any way to do this in Open Dental? Thanks!

Hi drpenny,

I am new to OpenDental too but I believe one answer would be to just run multiple instances of the application. You could select a different module in each instance and display them on different monitors. Does that help you at all?

I expect a more experienced User will reply to your post soon...

Thanks Jack- can't believe I didn't think of that. Tried it, and sure enough it seems to function fine like that.

Wouldn't it be nice to have tabbed function similar to Google Chrome?

What different is tabbed design? You can see only one tab at a time. I think run multiple instances of OD at a time is simple enough.
