Time lock on existing appointments

Post by sandi »

Hiya how are people handling appointment times moving around as procedures are added and removed on existing appointments booked today. Any plan to time lock these I know it is a request , I have most of my votes for it but is there any chance it will be implemented in the near future and is it a widespread problem?

There is already a "time locked" checkbox inside the appointment edit window. Is that not working for you?

It is but its not ticked as default on scheduled appointments today at this moment in time. If say they could be default locked for all appointments say seen within 30 minutes of the scheduled time it would be very helpful. Is no one else having this problem of forgetting to tick it?

It is an extra click, but with a little effort, the staff could remember. They will realize immediately that they forgot when the time slider at the left jumps. The immediate feedback should train their brains very quickly. I agree that checked by default would be a nice feature, it's just that it's competing with all the other nice features that people want.

It is a big deal when the length of the appointment mysteriously changes and the patient shows up for a procedure you don't have enough time for! I've been begging for this to be fixed for FIVE YEARS!

It's request 210, in case anyone was wondering. It is fairly close to the top.

I may be missing something, but is there a way to turn off all automatic changes to appointment length?

Maybe it is just the nature of my practice, but we manually set all of our appointment lengths.

It gets a little irritating to see that the appointment length has changed and often causes a schedule overlap when we add procedures to the appt.

Yes, that was added in version 12.3 on 6/29/2012. It was request 210. Go to Setup, Modules, Appointments. Check Appointment Time Locked by Default.
