Monitors

Post by Stan »

New user to Open Dental (switching from Dentrix G5 soon). We need to upgrade some CRT monitors in both the treatment rooms and the front desk. What size is everyone using? Any advantage of using widescreen in the treatment rooms or the front? Or is dual monitors a better option?

I've got several different size monitors in my office. The ones I like the most are 20.5 in. widescreen, 1600 X 900 resolution.

I think the best is 24" 1080p...esp for the front desk.

My gals have 1080p 24" and a 19" 4x3 style side by side to allow for great viewing of the sched and then a second monitor which is essential to run your e-mail/ electronic documents/ another copy of OD to work from . If you don't have any 2 monitor solutions, you will love it.

We exclusively use 28" monitors with built-in speakers. Only a few hundred dollars. The ratio is a little wider and shorter than it was a few years ago. That's nice because then it's still short enough to look over when it's sitting on a desk.

I've only been OD for like a week now but I really like having dual monitors setup so I can have OD on one screen and Dexis open on the other.
