Pop-Up Tasks

Post by drtech » Tue Jun 03, 2008 6:39 am

Trying out the pop-up tasks, wondering how you intended it...Are all tasks supposed to pop up on all computers or only tasks in in-boxes where that user is logged in? I think the way it is working right now, too many tasks pop up. My staff is already complaining at me after using it for one day. :p Good work though on in-boxes and replies and all, I think it is going to work well...

Make sure you are on the latest build. Task popups will only happen for folders that the user is subscribed to or for their inbox. Edits will not trigger a new popup unless the sender does a popup intentionally. What you might do to reduce popups is to have users unsubscribe from task lists that are not important to them. There is a lot of intense development going on in task lists right now because that's how we manage incoming phone calls for Open Dental. We are very close to tying Open Dental into our Asterisk phone server so that each customer pops up on our screen before we even answer the phone. I feel that we can achieve some good improvements in efficiency through better task lists. Believe me, if there's anything annoying about tasks, we already know about it and have plans to refine it.

ahhh, that makes since...it is the subscribed tasks as well, I thought it was only the in-boxes. So, what is the function of the inbox? Just to indicate where to reply to and from?
