v19.2.6 Double Payment Posting

Post by drtech » Thu Aug 01, 2019 11:41 am

I have not been able to duplicate it yet, however my staff tells me this has happened on at least separate occasions over the past few weeks where a posted patient payment shows up twice in the account. Just saw it for myself today and I deleted the duplicate. The amount and notes are identical, so it seems the program is writing to the database twice?

If you were able to identify the steps to consistently produce this behavior, we would look into it.

I have not figured out what causes this yet, but I had five "phantom" payments that showed up as checks on the deposit when they were entered in as credit cards. When I ran database maintenance, it did clear them. Will let you know if another one shows....

Have two more phantom/double payments listed on the deposits, but not in the pt accounts. After having my staff look for this, I figured out the program is crashing directly after entering the amount in the small pt payment window, before the main windows pops up. (They have not recorded the error message yet, but I instructed them to do so the next time they have it happen) So a "phantom" payment shows up from the crashed session, then they do it again and everything works fine the next time....stay tuned for more info to help narrow this down...

We do have a Database Maintenance method to fix this: PaymentMissingPaySplit. It will delete these phantom payments when you run it.

Yes, it does fix it, just trying to nail down what is causing it to crash.

My staff just had it happened again this morning, but they only got the initial error code, and not the details, so you we will have to wait for the next instance for the complete code breakdown of the error.

Here is the error message box message.

"Critical Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
