No love for Walmart pharmacies (eRx)

Post by wjstarck » Thu Jan 18, 2018 1:20 pm

If I try to search for Walmart pharmacies in eRx, they won't be found.

For instance, if I search for

Walmart
Walmart Pharmacy or even
Walmart Pharmacy 975 in a particular city, the search won't return any results

OD 17.4.17, but I think it started eariler

Isn't Walmart technically Wal-Mart? Have you tried those kinds of variations?
wal-mart
wal mart
etc.

I'd check it myself but just got back from vacation and so you might get to it before I get a chance.

Jason-

In some cities they are entered into NewCropRx as Wal-Mart (eg., Frisco, TX) while in others as Walmart (eg., Midland, TX).

If I don't specify the city in Texas, typing 'Wal' will find all the pharmacies that begin with 'Wal' (eg., Wal-Mart, Walgreens), but oddly will not display the ones listed as 'Walmart'. Even odder, if I specify the city (eg., Midland, TX), typing 'Walmart' will return 0 results, while typing just 'Wal' will bring up the 'Walmarts' in that city, which is a little wonky.

PS: Have a great vacation :D

That is rather peculiar. I'll see what they have to say about it.

They might have a nifty little wildcard that you can use like '%' or '*' to make a more intelligent search. Maybe try to get tricky with something like that in the meantime?

What you're doing is what they ended up recommending.
Kristie Davidson at NewCrop
Have the provider enter only “Wal” when looking for Walmart pharmacies. Some Walmart pharmacies list their name as Walmart and some as Wal-Mart. We cannot control this as they control how their name appears in SureScripts.

When I search for Walmart, I’ll use Wal in the name field and then either the street name (no numbers) or the city.

If you’re still having issues, please send a screenshot or two with examples of what is not showing.
So I guess you can PM some screenshots to me if you'd like to continue this endeavor.
