Database maintenance tool throws an exception (v 5.2.5)

Post by wjstarck » Tue Sep 25, 2007 6:19 pm

When I run the DBMT since upgrading to 5.2.5 I get:

"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'of preference' at line 1"

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

It works fine on my system. I also did a text search for 'preference' in that form, and found no good match. I also reviewed the queries in that form and they all seem to be fine. So your error is specific to your database or to your environment. We would need a copy of your database to research it any further.

Jordan-

I guessed that the preference table had gotten corrupted somehow when I upgraded (even though it looked fine in Navicat), so I reinstalled it from a backup and everything works fine now.

Thanks,
