Supported Server Operating Systems - Windows 2003/2008?

Post by mangg » Thu Oct 29, 2009 5:31 am

Hello,

I am looking for information on supported Windows server operating systems. The documentation here: http://www.opendental.com/manual/comput ... ments.html seems to think that Vista is suitable for a "server." LOL!

Does open dental support Windows 2003 Srv and Windows 2008 Srv?

Thanks in advance!

We have Windows 2003 Server as our database server and a Windows 2008 terminal server. Works for us.

any windows version 98, XP, Vista, Win7 will work. There is really no requirement (although I agree, never vista!). mySQL just has to install. I use ubuntu linux. Works great and never goes down.

Thanks to you all for your help! 8)

I think that the documentation on the website should be updated to include more clear details on the supported version. http://www.opendental.com/manual/comput ... ments.html As it is right now that document is not exactly comprehensive or detailed. Were it a WIKI I would fix it myself.

Thanks
